Flooring

Floors that hold up to real life

Kids, dogs, muddy shoes, a kitchen that gets used. The prettiest floor in the showroom isn't always the one you want to live with. We help you choose for your house, then find an installer who does it right.

What we think about

One floor rarely suits every room. That's normal.

Room by room

Kitchens and baths need water resistance. Bedrooms can be softer. Entries take a beating.

Who lives there

Pets and kids change the math on scratches and spills. So does how much cleaning you want to do.

What's underneath

The subfloor can add prep work and cost. A good installer checks it before quoting.

How it works with Sanctuary

Three steps, at your pace. You can stop at any point.

  1. 01

    Tell us about your home

Send us a few details about the house and what's bugging you. Photos help. Nothing gets shared without your OK.

  2. 02

    Talk through your options

We go over your options with you, including what each one costs you in time and hassle, and whether it makes sense to wait.

  3. 03

    Meet one vetted partner

When you're ready, and with your permission, we introduce one licensed partner we've checked carefully. They quote, contract and do the work with you directly, and we're still here if questions come up.

Comparing options

The tradeoffs, plainly

Every material is good at something. These are the differences that matter day to day.

Hardwood vs. look-alikes

Real hardwood can be refinished for decades. Luxury vinyl plank handles water better and costs less, but can't be sanded.

Tile

Great in wet areas and very durable. It's also cold and hard underfoot, which matters more to some people than others.

Living through install

Flooring usually means moving furniture and staying out of rooms for a bit. We help you plan for that.

Scope and cost depend on the rooms, the subfloor and the materials you choose.

Common questions

What flooring is best with pets?

LVP and tile handle scratches and accidents well. Some hardwoods hold up better than others. We'll walk through it.

Can you match my existing floors?

Sometimes. It depends on what you have. Your installer can tell you what's possible.

Who does the install?

A C-15 licensed flooring contractor from our vetted partners. We introduce one with your OK.

Does talking with you cost anything?

No. And there's no pressure afterward.
